Protecting your personal information is of the utmost importance to Trip H Rentals, Inc. (together with its affiliated companies, “Trip H Rentals”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Notice explains what information we collect, and how we use the information we collect, from or about you on our websites (located at our primary website, http://www.triphrentals.com, and including, but not limited to, as well as any websites for companies we acquire in the future (collectively, the “Websites”)), via our mobile applications, devices, through communications with us, or from other sources.
Please read this Notice carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our websites or services. By accessing or using the Websites, or otherwise providing us with your personal information, you acknowledge that you have read and understood, and agree to, this Privacy Notice. This Notice may change from time to time (see Updates to Our Privacy Notice below). Your continued use of the Websites or our services after we make changes to the Notice is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the Notice periodically for updates.
This Privacy Notice applies to Trip H Rentals’ global operations, with Addenda below that cover specific jurisdictions in which Trip H Rentals operates.
The Addenda below explain our privacy practices for certain countries or territories which may vary to reflect local legal requirements.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect the following personal information and may have collected such information in the past 12 months:
Identifiers, which include your name, postal address, email address, unique personal identifiers, online identifiers, IP address, account name, driver’s license number*, social security number*, passport number*, vehicle identification number and other similar identifiers. We collect these identifiers in order to provide you with our products and services. We may also collect your driver’s license* in connection with the use of certain products. In addition, we obtain identifiers such as user name or ID*, passwords* and similar credentials when you create an account with us to access our services or when you communicate with us via social media, as well as your IP address and unique device identifiers when you visit our websites or use our mobile apps.
The following categories of personal information described in California Civil Code § 1798.80(e): (1) the Identifiers listed above; (2) signature, (3) telephone number, (4) payment information* (which may include bank account number and/or credit or debit card number), (5) automobile insurance policy number, (6) information obtained in connection with a credit check (if applicable in connection with services obtained from us), including financial information and education, employment and employment history.
Biometric data*, including a scan of your facial geometry based on photos you provide to United Rentals’ vendor(s), as applicable (in the United States and Canada only);
Commercial information, including records of products and services obtained from Trip H Rentals and information about your purchasing preferences.
Internet or other electronic network activity information, including browsing history, search history, and information regarding your interaction with our websites, mobile apps and advertisements.
Geolocation data* in the form of the location of our rental equipment and devices. This includes the geolocation of the rental equipment and devices during your use of them, and/or other telematics data as applicable. We may also collect the approximate location of your device from your IP address. Further, we may collect precise geolocation data from your browser and/or application programming interface (API) when using our apps, with your permission.
Audio information from calls made to our customer service centers or local stores, which may be recorded, video information in the form of vehicle dashboard cameras, if applicable, and electronic information in the form of Internet or other electronic network activity information as described above.
Professional or employment-related information, in the form of business contact information and as noted above in connection with credit checks performed in connection with certain services.
Inferences drawn from (a) the information we collect when you visit our Websites or use our mobile apps when you use our products or services, including our training academy, (b) information we collect, including through third-party suppliers, regarding content and other data posted on the Internet (such as public locations on the Internet) and (c) information about consumer preferences and behavior that we collect on our Websites and mobile apps or purchase from third parties in order to create a profile about a consumer reflecting the consumer’s preferences, characteristics, predispositions, behavior and attitudes.
Information provided in response to surveys.
Information provided when submitting any reviews or comments regarding our products or services.
Certain information above, including the information marked with an asterisk (*), is considered “sensitive information” under the California Consumer Privacy Act and other applicable privacy laws.
Unless otherwise stated, we intend to retain the above information only for as long as reasonably necessary to complete the purpose(s) for which the personal information was collected. We may retain certain information for a longer period in order to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and for other legitimate and lawful business purposes, such as fraud detection and prevention and enhancing safety and security across our services.
2. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION
We collect personal information that you provide to us, including information you submit to us when you use the Websites or our mobile apps, rent equipment, or purchase or use other services from us. As you navigate through and interact with the Websites or use mobile apps, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, online activities and browsing actions and patterns (as described below). We may collect this information directly or through third parties, including operating systems and platforms, social networks, data analytics providers or advertising networks, and our business partners. If you share someone else’s information with us, you confirm they have authorized you to share their information and have been informed of their rights under this Notice.
3. AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION TECHNOLOGIES AND LINKED WEBSITES
As you navigate through and interact with our websites or our mobile applications, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:
Details of your visits to our websites or mobile applications, including location, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Website.
Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, device make/model, operating system, and browser type.
The technologies we use for automatic data collection on the Websites or our mobile applications include cookies and web beacons.
A "cookie" is an element of data that a website can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your system. We use different kinds of cookies on the Websites.
A “web beacon” is a small electronic file (e.g., clear gifs, pixel tags and single-pixel gifs) with a unique identifier that is used to understand browsing activity.
We use data collected through these technologies, which we may supplement with other information such as location, to enable, optimize and analyze the operation of our websites and to deliver a better and more personalized service. Third-party cookies. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based advertising or other targeted content. We also share information collected by these technologies with third party social media, advertising and analytics partners who may combine it with other information that they have collected about you, for advertising or other purposes. Linked Websites. The Websites may include links to other websites or content that belongs to third parties. We are not responsible for personal information that you voluntarily disclose to such third parties, and we are not responsible for third party websites, content, or services. You should review the privacy policies associated with those third parties.
4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We may use personal information we collect to:
Provide you with the Websites as well as with information, products or services that you request from us.
Complete transactions, including your rental or purchase of products and services.
Provide customer and account services, such as notices regarding products and services or your account/subscription, including expiration and renewal notices.
Comply with applicable laws, cooperate with investigations by law enforcement, and/or pursue our legal rights, including performing and enforcing our contractual obligations and rights, such as billing and collection.
Evaluate and improve our products and services and/or develop new products or services.
Tailor our marketing and advertising to you. However, we will not share your mobile number with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.
We may also use your personal information to contact you about our own and third parties' goods and services that may be of interest to you. 5. INFORMATION WE SHARE
We may disclose aggregated information about our users and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.
We may disclose personal information as described in this Notice to the following persons for the purposes described below:
Our subsidiaries and affiliates.
Contractors, service providers and other third parties we use to support our business and provide you with our products and services. These include companies that process, store or transmit credit card information and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and secure, and to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
Our customers in connection with services we provide to them, including information related to driver and operator behaviors that occur during the use of the rented or purchased equipment.
As noted in our Rental and Service Terms, telematics data may be available to subsequent users of equipment.
Buyers or other successors in the event of a business transaction, such as a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation or similar proceeding in which personal information held by us is among the assets transferred.
Government entities or other parties comply with court order, law or legal process, including responding to a government, court or regulatory request.
Government entities, third-party cybersecurity experts or other parties as necessary and appropriate to ensure the security and integrity of our networks, or otherwise protect the rights, property or safety of United Rentals, our customers or others.
Third-party entities to enforce or apply our Terms of Use (/legal/terms-of-use-us-eng) and other agreements or otherwise protect or assert our legal rights, including for billing and collection purposes.
We may also disclose your personal information to other persons for such other purposes as you may consent from time to time.

6. CHOICES ABOUT HOW WE USE AND DISCLOSE YOUR INFORMATION
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the Websites may then be inaccessible or not function properly. Promotional Offers from United Rentals. If you do not wish to have your personal information used by Trip H Rentals to promote our own or third parties' products or services, you can opt-out by contacting our Privacy Officer (see How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights or Contact Us below for details on how to contact our Privacy Officer). If we have sent you a promotional e-mail, you may send us a return e-mail asking to be omitted from future e-mail distributions. If you opt out from receiving promotional e-mails, we may still need to send you communications about product purchases, warranty registration, product service experience or other matters or transactions.
Targeted Advertising. If you do not want us to use information that we directly or indirectly collect or that you provide to us to deliver our advertisements according to our advertisers' target audience preferences, you can:
Turn off targeting cookies (to do so, please visit cookie settings via the Privacy Preference Center);

7. CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 14
The content of the Websites is not targeted to, or intended for, children under 14 years of age. United Rentals does not market products or services to this age group and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If you are under 14, do not use or provide any information on the Site or on or through any of its features or register on the Site, make any purchases or rentals through the Site or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 14 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 14, please contact our Privacy Officer (see Contact Us below for details on how to contact our Privacy Officer).
8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
You may make a request to review any personal information about you that we have collected, used, or disclosed, and information about those uses and disclosures, and we will provide you with any such personal information to the extent required by applicable laws.
You may also challenge the accuracy or completeness of your personal information in our records. If you demonstrate that your personal information in our records is inaccurate or incomplete, we will amend or delete your personal information as required by applicable laws.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
The exact scope of your privacy rights may vary by jurisdiction. You may also have other privacy rights, depending on the jurisdiction in which you reside. Please review the Addenda below which explain specific privacy rights that exist in certain countries or territories.
To exercise any of your privacy rights, please follow the instructions (How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights), below. We will honor your request to the extent required by applicable law and will make a good faith effort to honor your request in all other cases.
If you disagree with our response to your request, you may appeal the request by submitting supporting documentation to our Privacy Officer at rentals@triphrentals.com You may also submit a complaint to the competent supervisory authority in the jurisdiction in which you live if you have any concerns about our processing of your personal data or if we deny your appeal to review a prior decision about your privacy rights.
With respect to certain deletion requests, we may not be able to delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
If you have a TripHRentals.com account, you can review and change your personal information by logging into the Website and visiting your account profile page and updating your information. Please note that this will not update your customer account with us; this will only update your website account. If you would like to update your customer account with us, please follow the instructions (How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights), below.
Additionally, residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia may have the right (now or in the future) to:
(a) receive, at or before the time of collection, notice of our privacy practices.
(b) know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell.
(c) request that we delete your personal information.
(d) access and obtain a copy of your personal information that we collect.
(e) request correction of inaccurate personal information, considering the information’s nature and processing purpose (excluding Iowa and Utah).
(f) opt out of the sale of your personal information.
(g) opt out of targeted advertising (excluding Iowa); or
(h) either limit (opt out of) or require consent to the use and disclosure of certain sensitive information, as applicable.
Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain personal information sales. Nevada residents who wish to exercise this sale opt-out rights may submit a request to rentals@TripHRentals.com

Please note that we may take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to information or acting on your request to exercise your rights, as required or permitted by law. We may limit our response to your exercise of the above rights as permitted by law.
You may designate an authorized agent to exercise the foregoing rights on your behalf. An agent may be an individual or a business entity registered with your Secretary of State. To designate an authorized agent, you must provide the agent with written permission to submit the request. We may still require you to verify your identity directly (subject to certain exceptions). We may refuse a request if the agent does not provide adequate proof of their authorization.
10. SALES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
When we share information for purposes of targeted advertising or advertising networks, such sharing may be considered a “sale” of information under some U.S. state laws. You may request to opt out of such sharing of information (see How to Exercise Your Privacy Rights above).
11. DO NOT TRACK/GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL
We comply with the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which means if you enable the GPC setting in your browser, we will interpret that as a request to not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
12. DATA SECURITY
We have implemented measures designed to secure your information. For example, we require our payment processing merchants to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. Moreover, we require that any third party that process your information on our behalf comply with a comprehensive set of security requirements. For more information on these requirements, please visit TripHRentals.com However, we cannot guarantee that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy (for example, as a result of unauthorized acts by third parties that violate applicable law or relevant Web policies).
You may need to register for an account to use all or part of our services. When you do, you will be asked to select a password to help protect your information. These passwords help us verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your personal information. You should never disclose your password to anyone, and you should not use the same password for other websites. We will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited phone call or e-mail. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your passwords and account information
13. UPDATES TO OUR PRIVACY NOTICE
We may make changes to this Notice from time to time. When we make material changes to this Notice, we will post a link to the revised Notice on the homepage of our websites, and if you have registered for any of products or services or have an account with us, we may also inform you though a communications channel that you have provided. The date the Notice was last revised is identified at the top of the page. Any changes to this Notice will become effective upon posting of the revised Notice on the Websites.
